PARSEC EDUCATION SELECTS NEW CEO

Fresno, CA – Parsec Education has announced today that Babatunde Ilori will be Co-Owner and new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will succeed Eugene Park, Founder and current CEO.  Eugene Park will move into the Chief Innovation Officer role where he will focus on the development and enhancement of product offerings and services for Parsec Education.  The transition is expected to take place in the middle of October 2022.

“We are thrilled to announce that Babatunde Ilori has accepted our offer to join Parsec Education as its CEO. Babatunde brings extensive experience in educational leadership and has a strong commitment and passion for improving student achievement, especially for students in underserved communities.  We could not be more excited to have Babatunde in the Parsec Education family,” said Eugene Park, Founder of Parsec Education.

Babatunde is currently the Executive Director of Accountability and Communications for Madera Unified School District and has worked for Madera Unified since 2014.  His department oversees the district’s research, data systems, and communications. Babatunde is also responsible for the development and updating of the Local Control Accountability Plan. Madera Unified was awarded the local engagement exemplar prize for parent engagement across the state. Additionally, Babatunde’s department recently received statewide recognition from the California Public Relations Association for the communication efforts in special events, tactics, and media relations.

In April of 2022, Babatunde received the Public Health Champion of the Year award. Of particular interest to Babatunde is the intersection of data, district/school improvement efforts, and student voice. Babatunde’s focus is on gathering data at the ground level through deep listening, observations, and lived experiences of students, parents, staff, and other people who are a part of the school community.

In January 2022, Babatunde was appointed to the California Practitioner Advisory Group (CPAG), a key statewide committee that provides input to the State Board of Education (SBE) on ongoing efforts to establish a single coherent local, state, and federal accountability system. CPAG also provides input to the SBE on practical implications of decisions before the SBE, which may include providing input on the design of the Local Control Funding Formula evaluation rubrics and other decisions related to implementing the Local Control Funding Formula.

Babatunde is a member of the Fresno Chaffee Zoo Board and sits on the Zoo’s development advisory committee.

Prior to working for Madera Unified, Babatunde has worked for Fresno Unified School District as the Chief of Staff and then Director of Equity, Access, and Accountability. Babatunde has a Masters of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He also has a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the Yale School of Management (formerly Broad Center for the Management of School Systems). He received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems at Azusa Pacific University.

As Chief Executive Officer, Babatunde Ilori will oversee all functions of Parsec Education.

“I am privileged and excited to join the Parsec Education team and continue to build on the great work they’ve done to support our educational partners by utilizing data to improve student achievement,” said Ilori.

“Parsec Education’s mission is to improve and transform K-12 education and student outcomes through modernizing, evaluating, improving, and standardizing the way schools view, interpret, and respond to data.”

Share Your Local Data

With the recent announcement of California's approved Assessments Plan, Parsec Education is ready to support school districts choosing to publicly share their assessment results with parents and stakeholders.

In anticipation of the federal waivers being approved, Parsec's team created a user-friendly, public-facing dashboard that can quickly and effectively showcase high-quality interim or diagnostic test that meets California's state board of education approved criteria (still pending).

Parsec's public dashboard combines local assessment data with CALPADS data to ensure alignment with the CA School Dashboard. Results can be disaggregated by grade level, race/ethnicity, student group, and school.

Data integration is simple and straightforward, and your public dashboard can go live within 48-hours.

Getting individual student results into the hands of parents and guardians will be critical as school districts work with their stakeholders to accelerate learning for their students. Parsec Education recently partnered with Madera Unified to create a custom student report using data from their local assessment called the NWEA MAP Growth. Parsec's student reports are easy to understand, and provides individualized goal-setting targets.

Introducing the NEXT GREAT LEAP for Student Report Cards - Parsec Education's Multiple Measures Report Card

Parsec Education reveals their cutting edge Multiple Measures Report Card - an individualized student report that presents a holistic view of a child's complete academic experience.

The Multiple Measures Report Card is a remarkably fresh way to look at a student's educational standing and current performance. Designed with parents in mind, this streamlined, intuitive report card provides a well-rounded view of a student's achievement across the board. The Multiple Measures Report Card presents grades, data on state tests, local tests, and provides side-by-side comparisons with local peer averages. It showcases a comprehensive, overall chart that displays performance across all measures, and is the first of its kind.

Data-rich, yet easy to understand, the striking visualizations of the Multiple Measures Report Card work together to tell a story about each student. The multi-page, color spreads function as a tangible road map that empowers parents, teachers, and especially students to be informed about their education. With detailed information on areas of strength and areas of need, a student and their support system can use this information to work together to achieve their goals.

Features

  • Customizable: The Multiple Measures Report Card template is modular, which allows for easy customization. Each segment can be swapped out or rearranged to meet the needs of every school or district.
  • Objective: Compared to traditional report cards which only present a student's performance without any reference norms, the Multiple Measures Report Card offers a student's performance alongside local norms for objective comparisons.
  • Simple: To optimize turnaround time, we have standardized the data upload process. Once a data-sharing agreement is in place, a client submits their separate data sets to us, and we do the work of consolidating into one master data set for the Report Card.
  • Trustworthy: With over a decade of experience in education, statistical analysis, data visualization, and user experience, Parsec Education ensures that each product goes through rigorous quality and data checks so that our clients can be confident in the accuracy and security of their data.
