Fresno, CA – Parsec Education has announced today that Babatunde Ilori will be Co-Owner and new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will succeed Eugene Park, Founder and current CEO. Eugene Park will move into the Chief Innovation Officer role where he will focus on the development and enhancement of product offerings and services for Parsec Education. The transition is expected to take place in the middle of October 2022.

Babatunde brings extensive experience in educational leadership and has a strong commitment and passion for improving student achievement, especially for students in underserved communities. Babatunde is currently the Executive Director of Accountability and Communications for Madera Unified School District and has worked for Madera Unified since 2014. His department oversees the district’s research, data systems, and communications. Babatunde is also responsible for the development and updating of the Local Control Accountability Plan. Madera Unified was awarded the local engagement exemplar prize for parent engagement across the state. Additionally, Babatunde’s department recently received statewide recognition from the California Public Relations Association for the communication efforts in special events, tactics, and media relations.
In April of 2022, Babatunde received the Public Health Champion of the Year award. Of particular interest to Babatunde is the intersection of data, district/school improvement efforts, and student voice. Babatunde’s focus is on gathering data at the ground level through deep listening, observations, and lived experiences of students, parents, staff, and other people who are a part of the school community.
In January 2022, Babatunde was appointed to the California Practitioner Advisory Group (CPAG), a key statewide committee that provides input to the State Board of Education (SBE) on ongoing efforts to establish a single coherent local, state, and federal accountability system. CPAG also provides input to the SBE on practical implications of decisions before the SBE, which may include providing input on the design of the Local Control Funding Formula evaluation rubrics and other decisions related to implementing the Local Control Funding Formula.
Babatunde is a member of the Fresno Chaffee Zoo Board and sits on the Zoo’s development advisory committee.
Prior to working for Madera Unified, Babatunde has worked for Fresno Unified School District as the Chief of Staff and then Director of Equity, Access, and Accountability. Babatunde has a Masters of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He also has a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the Yale School of Management (formerly Broad Center for the Management of School Systems). He received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems at Azusa Pacific University.
As Chief Executive Officer, Babatunde Ilori will oversee all functions of Parsec Education.
