Superintendent of Hope Elementary School District, Melanie Matta has spent over 20 years advancing educational equity in underserved communities. She serves on the Small School Districts' Association Board and chairs the State ACSA Small School Districts' Council, leading efforts focused on diversity and inclusion.
Dr. Simone Charles is the principal of Walt Whitman Continuation High School, a California Model School known for its student-centered approach. Named ACSA Region 16 Principal of the Year in 2022, she leads statewide efforts in alternative education and is a recognized voice across national webinars and publications.
Founded in 2017, A4 is a Fresno Unified initiative that leads literacy, math, and leadership programs for students from pre-K through 12th grade across all racial and ethnic backgrounds. A4 equips students, families, and educators with the tools and support needed to close the achievement gap and advance educational equity for every child.
